How did it all come about....? The website you see now, wasn't always called Blue-Ice.net, it was formerly known as SJH-Graphix.net. It simply began life as a very small blog and graphics site, SJH-Graphix didn't start off with it's own domain though. I registered with Freewebs, no matter the name of your registered site it always ended up with the extension of .freewebs. I hated that, however, I couldn't afford to get my own domain. I moved and registered with CJB.net, still a free host but at least it had a nicer weblink name. Due to unreliability I went in search of something else which came in the form of Lostinasong.net, the owner whose name I sadly cannot remember, gave me hosting and so for a while my little site was known as sjh-graphix.lostinasong.net. Unfortunately that site is no longer running, I was so greatful for the hosting, but it still wasn't enough, I wanted my own domain. I searched for ages, having never done this before I wasn't really sure what I was looking for exactly, finally I found 123-reg, it asked for its membership in good old UK POUNDS so it was good enough for me - I'm useless at money conversions!!! SJH-Graphix.net was finally born, with my new domain up and running it wasn't long before it was overrun, since it was a blog and a graphics site!! It was time for a change, that change came in the form of Written In The Stars which then became my blog. Although my blog was not hosted at 123-reg, instead it was hosted at an American site called Network Solutions. Like a geeky child in a sweet shop I loved my new host, I moved SJH-Graphix over to Network Solutions, soon enough as with most things, I got bored of the name, I purchased http://blue-ice.net in October 2006. SJH-Graphix expired a couple of days after I loaded Blue-Ice onto the web!! |
